Donald " Freddy" Harris, 58, of Harrisburg had been missing since July 16, 2022, and his remains were found on the afternoon of Sunday, March 19, 2023, Dauphin County Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Libhart told Daily Voice.
His remains were found in the 1300 block of Crooked Hill Road near the US Postal Service shipping and sorting hub close to Elmerton Road by the Farm Show Complex, Susquehanna Township Police explained at the time.
The report of "human remains" was called into the Susquehanna Township Police around 1:30 p.m. and officers, the Dauphin County Coroner's Office, and the Dauphin County Forensics Unit began to investigate the incident.
His date of death is believed to be the day he was found, based on the police investigation, and no foul play is suspected, but his official cause and manner of death are pending although his autopsy happened on March 21, 2023, according to Libhart.
His family was notified by Susquehanna Police.
He was US Navy veteran, according to his family.
Freddy is survived by his daughter and six grandchildren.
Funeral and memorial service details have not been released.
